JOEL DAHMEN SHARES MEMORIES OF MOM

JOEL DAHMEN SHARES MEMORIES OF MOM

My mom, Jolyn, passed away from pancreatic cancer on April 18, 2005. She was always my biggest fan and my hero. She was a decent golfer in her own right, carrying an 18 handicap. She was an elementary teacher and having summers off, we drove around all over the northwest to junior events. Those are some of my favorite memories. She didn’t care if I won or lost, she just wanted me to have a good attitude and try my best. We would occasionally team up in couples tournaments and win most of the time. One time, on Valentine’s Day, we shot a 64 in a chapman format. I remember her making a lot of putts that day. One of the last conversations we had was about chasing my dreams and not giving up on them. I know she is proud of me for doing just that and not giving up.
